Hello February! It’s at this time of year I spoil myself silly with Vanessa Carlton music, especially on good days where I am able to spring clean, I put ‘Nolita Fairytale’ on full volume and belt it out until I wish I hadn’t haha.
I get so tired but those moments are definitely worth it. I’d been feeling a bit stronger recently so managed to declutter and tidy my room. It was so nice to take photos and for once not worry about clutter in the way haha. With Valentines approaching, I’ve started noticing all the novelty heart shaped things around me…
I found this beautiful heart photo frame in Poundstretcher for £1! I had a spare quid in my purse so I couldn’t resist. I like to hang it on my door handle or wardrobe. I haven’t yet found a picture to fill it yet though!
Heart shaped cushions from Primark! I love it when you feel like spring is starting to kick in and it’s getting lighter each morning. We’ve been having sunny days where the sun makes the rooms glow and your photos all light and airy. It’s so nice to kick back our feet and take time to experience February mornings and afternoons in a new house, whole new surroundings. Everything about this time of year feels so fresh and new!
We popped in to Pets at Home to see the animals and I decided to treat my gerbils to these ‘Ho Ho Ho’ letter blocks as they were only £1 for a set in the sale. They also had little Christmas garlands for 50p!
I also picked up some confetti Carefresh bedding to try as it was on offer, £4 instead of the usual £6. It’s still quite pricey so I’m only using it a sprinkle at a time, but a little goes a long way. They immediately took it straight down in to their burrows to sleep in. It looks so pretty in their cages, even the bits that get kicked out!
I always make sure to purchase a packet of these as the gerbils love them so much! They are like milky buttons for rodents. I am sure to only offer a couple at a time so a little packet lasts a good while. I originally bought some of these to give to Meemoo as a little food supplement while she was nursing but the others absolutely love them, I find it so cute that I can give my gerbils chocolate on Valentine’s day too! Crazy gerbil lady
Oscar loves the cakes in my diary, he reaches for it every morning when we wake up and spends ages poring over each illustration, trying to decide which looks the tastiest. It’s getting pretty scrumpled haha. It’s a joy to look through and marvel at February’s recipes and quotes. I wish I had more time to write in it.
I’ve just noticed they have heart shaped bowls for £2.50 in my local Asda, I’d love to pick one up but can’t quite afford it at the moment haha. What are your plans for Valentines/Galentines? How do you spoil your pets? ♡

I love heart-shaped homeware too! It's just too cute to resist. You can find really pretty Valentine's day-themed stuff like that in Poundland and supermarkets too. It's just a nice touch too add at this time of year, which can otherwise be grey and dull!
