What I've been loving lately...

Girly shabby chic vintage aesthetic blog
Hey all! I thought I would do a light, chatty kind of post. I haven't done one of these for ages! I've been struggling with really awful anxiety, ever since last summer. It's been
incredibly relentless. It never leaves me and screams at me constantly and most days I am going mad with anxiety. For some reason I am so consumed with health anxiety that there is none left over for coronavirus. I hope everyone is managing okay with the virus affecting so many things like jobs, rent, childcare and security!

I've been enjoying putting together a lot of 'wishlist style' posts lately, I especially love creating them around a theme, they are so much fun, but for now here's an easy kind of post, a few outfit details and things I've been loving recently!

How big little boy has gotten now! He is four years old and going to school and most definitely his own little person. It makes me so happy he is starting to look like me more. He can read anything and creates the most outrageous stories that last for hours. His hair is getting darker and is now dirty blonde, graduating to biscuit colour!

This gorgeous little kabuki brush I picked up recently! I'm slowly swapping over to completely biodegradable and planet friendly makeup materials and packaging. The bristles are incredibly soft and sturdy and perfect for blending liquid or powder product.

What I'm wearing today, this beautiful checked River Island skirt reduced down to £12 from £32! I love it with this pink top I picked up from Forever21 a while ago. I also found a gorgeous 80's summer dress on Etsy, I can't wait to give it a little refresh!

I treated myself to a shabby chic bird decoration on ebay. I got it to motivate me in to deep cleaning for spring. I get a bit too excited about new ornaments to hang up! I'm not sure whether to put it on my dressing table or window.

I've been burning this Neom candle a ton, I bought it for cheaper on ebay. It's the Complete Bliss 'Calm & Relax' scent. I remember smelling it in Selfridges when we had a date in Birmingham (the best!) and oh my goodess, it's gorgeous, it smells like hot flowers haha. I couldn't stop thinking about it for two weeks afterwards.

I was completely in two minds about it, with it being so expensive, over £40 at John Lewis! However, I couldn't stop thinking about the scent, I felt obsessed. I managed to find a genuine three wick candle at a much better (though still pricey) price on ebay, so went for it! It smells like pure happiness

It's a lovely candle and smells divine but for the amount it normally costs I think I was expecting it to perform miracles haha, it scents the room just a little and you burn through it quite quickly so I don't think I would buy it again. If I did I would keep it in a case and not burn it and open it to smell it regularly. I have my eye on the Calm & Relax essential oil which shares that same golden fragrance, it's heavenly

  3. I enjoyed the post, Elizabeth. I feel like light hearted posts are really needed right now. Your new things look lovely. Sometimes it's worth spending a bit more and treating yourself! And I love the new pics of Oscar! :)

I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety. I can really relate, especially with health anxiety. Although mine isn't so much about viruses, but if I'm not careful I'm going to start focusing on those type of symptoms! :( Hope you're doing ok. :) <3
