The trial size skincare you need to try

Recently I noticed they had some new mini skincare sets on ASOS. A little while ago I ordered this very pretty and pink Origins kit as a bit of a treat to myself for £20 and I’m so, so glad I did. I love having tons of products to play with, they have been amazing for crafting a little skincare routine and getting to know all of the different products without forking out for the full price items. I would never have been able to try them otherwise. It’s fun being totally kitted out for a night in or pamper evening… complete with rose clay face mask, renewal serum and matte moisturiser!

I decided to try one of the new Clinique skincare kits. Not long ago I sampled a bit of my sister’s ‘Take the day off’ balm and it was really gentle and soothing, it didn’t hurt my sensitive skin and it made my face look nice and glowy. It is as good as they say it is! The Clinique moisture surge is

something I have also been longing to try, with it coming up on my Pinterest so much and people calling it the ultimate glow up product. This is pretty much why I chose the Clinique ‘Stay in and chill out’ kit, plus I think the name is amazing, it suits me to a tea ‘t’. It includes the pink moisture surge tub, the moisture surge overnight mask, sparkle skin body exfoliator, plus a silky eye mask.

The size of the products inside really impressed me, you get a lot of product inside for miniature or trial size products – apart from the sleep mask that is full sized haha. It feels really luxurious having so much of each product when full size they would individually be worth about £25-£30. Each product comes packaged in tissue paper and the box is really cute. I absolutely love the inclusion of the sleeping mask, it’s just perfect alongside the products inside, the whole set has a really princessy feel. After purchasing this I really, really want to buy the ‘Beauty Sleep in a box’, that sounds amazing haha.

Even though there is 75 whole ml of the sparkling skin body exfoliator, I was afraid of using it up too fast as I end up going to town using exfoliators haha. It’s really handy having a tube and I found it’s quite an intensive sugar texture scrub so a tiny bit of rubbing makes really smooth legs. It has a cooling, soothing, almost minty scent that reminds me a bit of baby powder or baby lotion haha.

I have only used these products for about 3 days so far, they have been such a dream to apply, lovely, cooling and soothing. They make for the perfect princessy ritual, my skin feels satiny soft and the sleep mask is the best touch. Applying the moisture surge gel and the overnight moisture surge cream – they both send me straight to sleep! They feel amazing on the skin and make it feel a m a z i n g too. I will definitely be back with the results in a few days once I have used them a while longer.

I think these sets make for the perfect treat to buy yourself when you need a pick me up. Before you know it you’ve got yourself an amazing little skincare collection without going too low in your bank account. For me, £20 is the most I can afford to spend on skincare at the best of times. I think many of these kits are real steals and I love all the little touches that go in to making them. I’d really love to add some of the mini singles to my collection, I have my eye on the trial size version of Clinique ‘take the day off’, I hope it sticks around, plus the Pixi rose set (probably because it’s pink).

I've always been a huge fan of Clinique, and it was the first skincare brand that I tried. Their moisture surge moisturizer is also a favorite of mine, as well as Origins' retexturizing mask with rose clay. And I really like the way you take photos! They are always aesthetically pleasing.

Sample size products are great because it means if you don't like a product or if it doesn't work well with you, you won't have bought a full-size and wasted the product. The Origins kit sounds great as I've always wanted to try out the brand – thanks for sharing Elizabeth!

Thanks so much Julia! Ahhh exactly! I can finally justify trying out products I always wanted to try, it's great for people with sensitive skin as it's tricky to predict how it will react to certain products haha. Aw thank you Julia! ♡

I've not tried this brand before, but I really want to check it out properly! Sample sizes are great, because if you don't like it then at least you haven't got a full size product going to waste xx

Beautiful photos as always Elizabeth! I have been using the Clinique dramatically different moisturiser but it's not quite leaving my skin as I would like. Maybe moisture surge would be better?

Thank you so much Jacqueline! I definitely recommend giving it a go, it's been wonderful for the dry areas of my face, really soothes and helps to heal my eczema and my face has never looked glowier. Definitely go for the travel size to try it out, it lasts for a long while too! ♡
