Home tour, just around and about

Dear Sunday, from last Sunday. There is no theme for this post, just good old fashioned blogging and me being let loose with my camera. I took these snaps on Easter weekend. It was such a special time, blossom everywhere, the weather 10c warmer than usual with no clouds in the sky, only hazy sunshine.

I just wanted to head out with my camera and see where it took me. I love the expression ‘taking my camera for a walk’, it’s pretty much me. Here are some snaps from just out and about and around our home, just round the corner from and round by the beck at the back of my house.

I absolute love how the blossom ends up in the gutters, spills and collects on the inside of the road, I must have taken something like a billion pictures of blossom just stuck on the road haha. How magical is it when you get them all coming off the trees and swirling around you, or when the wind whips them up like that magical blossom creature from Narnia? It’s extra special as it’s only out once a year.

I think sometimes it is the picture heavy posts that say the most. Happiness is… trying to steal photos of all the blossom before it’s quickly over, secretly liking how the petals slightly brown when they decay, lugging my camera everywhere, pink pavements where ice cream melted due to 21c afternoon heat, hearing the beck at the bottom of my garden, and trying to illustrate it all in the snaps I take.

Footpath running down the back of my garden, it crosses over the beck and turns in to stepping stones. I absolutely love this time of year, everything feels sweet and wild and free now winter is over.

Affectionately named ‘Bluebell Woods’, you can just see the carpet of bluebells coming together, behind the wall. Possibly my favourite flower to photograph… that’s a post for another day! Last year I put together a bluebell finding guide, complete with lots of blue snaps too.

Peeking through the branches you might just spot the exterior of my house… kind of a mini adventure haha which is good for me as I am too tired to venture too far. I honestly just wish there were more days like this, afternoons you can just spend taking photographs, using the weather as an excuse. When it comes to working from home, I dream of garden offices and being able to stay out here all day.

I hope you liked this little slice of outdoor life. I wish I could bring it to life with this post, I wish I could jump back in where the weather is warm and we don’t have to wear coats. There are so many beautiful sounds I wish I could encapsulate, a lot of birds tweeting and a woodpecker too.

The parts I didn’t mention are the influx of spiders that have formed a kind of happening outside my house… fun! What are your favourite parts of spring – aand maybe least favourite? Haha ♡

Beautiful! I love your blossom pics and seeing your area.:)Spring is a beautiful time of year and the blossom trees are over quickly, like you said. The apple and cherry blossoms are going in my area of Sussex now (although there are a few left). The hawthorn is just coming out though. 🙂 I'm missing the warmer weather too!
