Some cute things in my bag and choco locks*

How does February go so quickly? January seems to kick about for three months long haha! I’ve been working on the next #romanticgals newsletter and eating quantities of tinned peaches. Despite this I’ve been on a bit

of a health kick recently, especially when it comes to cutting down on sugar. I’ve been distracting myself from post Christmas sugar cravings by enjoying these new releases. The best thing is I can fit them all in my purse at once and take them on the go! These were all purchased with my own money, aside from the lipcote lipstick lock potion featured here as it is a PR sample (*). Spring definitely smells sweet, like flowers and chocolate!

First up is this Victoria’s Secret rollerball fragrance in ‘LOVE’. I adore the Victoria’s Secret perfumes and sprays but it is so hard to get my hands on them as I live very far away from a store. When we go to Birmingham when visiting Mitch’s family in the West Midlands I always pop in and tag Mitch along with me.

I have always wanted to try one of their roller ball fragrances and their recent release ‘LOVE’ was priced at £10 instead of £18 for Valentines day. It’s described as ‘fresh, sparkling and totally optimistic’ which is such a great way to sum up this fragrance, it really does smell like ‘fresh air, blush blooms and boyfriend tees’. It’s such a dreamy, flirtatious, feel good fragrance, it’s my favourite thing ever right now for spring. With strong notes of apricot and apricot blossom as well as cotton flower, it makes me think of fresh sheets drying in the sun.

And when you bring them in and dress your bed up all clean and comfy you can almost smell the sun on them, if that makes sense! It really captures that feeling of serendipity on a fresh, sunny, spring day, when people start drying their laundry outside and mowing their lawn. I love that it’s a roller ball fragrance, there’s something so satisfying about applying it! It applies generously too, unlike those that I’ve tried before.

The scent lasts about four or so hours on me and the packaging is so dreamy too. The roller ball stick itself comes topped with a gold lid and encased in luxe textured outer tube packaging, in a baby pink hue, complete with girly script and little gold hearts. Just when you thought VS packaging couldn’t get any dreamier!

I was so excited when I came across the Lee Stafford Choco Locks range in Boots, at 1/3 off too! I ummed and ahhed over what to try but eventually settled on the Chocolate Shake spray as I wanted to pick up my faithful hair growth treatment too. I could barely wait til I got out the store to smell it and oh my goodness, it smells heavenly! The range contains Cacao extract, which means all of the products leave your hair with a deep, rich, chocolatey brownie scent. I believe the product I picked up acts as a detangling spray, it didn’t reduce frizz or add much shine for me but I’m content just to have my locks smelling like hot chocolate 24/7. I use it as a hair perfume and the scent lasts so long, I love that it matches my beloved Too Faced palettes in scent too.

Just my doughnut squishy from Sammy the Patissier. I love it so much, how detailed it is, it honestly looks real. Sometimes you just need to collect cute things in your bag for no apparent reason other than to make you hungry. I have no excuse for the used bus tickets in there, that are no cuter than they are edible looking.

The Lipcote lipstick sealer* is something I’m currently trialling. On applying it over desired lipstick, there is first a tingling sensation, similar to lip plumping glosses, that leaves as the lotion dries on your lips. It is amazing for stopping dark lipsticks smudging, especially when eating food Morissons doughnuts even so you don’t go about feeling self conscious that you have smudgey stains on your chin. It has a strong medicinal scent and taste that is a little off putting but even in a miniature size it will last so long, you get so many uses out of it. I’m so impressed – I just need to learn to be patient and wait til it sets properly or it flakes a little!

Is your bag/purse messy like me or organised? Which beauty essentials do you carry around? ♡

I agree, February has sped by tremendously. It only feels like the other day when February has begun and it's already more than a week since my Valentine's post! I am a massive fan of Victoria Secret scents and it's good to hear you got it at a discounted price. But honestly, it's slightly over expensive. My beauty essentials at the minute are water and face steaming, to be honest.😂 And recently, I obtained a beauty tip of moisturizing my face with NOURISHING oils at night so…that too.😅

Victoria's Secret fragrances are my absolute favorite for summer! I have a few, but haven't tried "Love" yet – I'll be sure to give it a smell when I visit a store in the US next month!

I should probably get myself a couple roll-on perfumes, it's actually a great idea to keep one in your bag and use throughout the day or whenever you forget to put perfume on in the morning! Victoria Secret fragrances are nice, but I have never found one which I like enough to get it – maybe I should go back there and have another look!

Aw thanks Julia, they are so easy and discreet to use! I agree, they definitely have soft, girly fragrances and I haven't found a statement fragrance yet, so in that way their fragrances are all quite similar. It's such a lovely experience going in store and trying them all though, I definitely recommend it! 😀 ♡

Roller-ball fragrances sound so good because you can control the amount you use and it's probably more concentrated on the parts you put the fragrance on.
