I thought I would bring you along on a window shopping trip with me. On my blog I’m always going on about the beautiful festive displays I see and I thought I’d share some with you! We still have some things to buy,
we are on the look out for bits and bobs like some blinds and furniture for the conservatory as we’ve never had one to fill before. This somehow justifies buying all the mini shabby chic baubles and frosted ornaments in the pound shops. There were so many pretty things, I thought I’d share some of my interior wishes in diary form…
First up we’ve been wanting some white blinds for downstairs and the conservatory door. I’m really loving these from Ambition Blinds at the moment, they are so dreamy. Oscar’s room came with a lovely dark green set when we moved in and I’d love something similar… only in white! I’ve never thought about child safety before when ordering curtains/blinds but this time it’s our primary concern that Oscar can’t injure himself in them somehow. I’d love to get them up for Christmas, that might be wishful thinking as Christmas ends up expensive haha! Though it’s so rewarding seeing your hard work come to fruition for those around you.
The views were so pretty on the way there, the hills bathed in sunshine and the trees look all fluffy, it’s like they are trying to huddle together to keep warm! I even caught some snow on the fells in the distance but by the time we got closer, most of it had melted. It’s such a magical time in the Lakes, the views are breathtaking.
This ‘Christmas’ letter garland is so dreamy, I have to find a way to buy one like this. An idea is to get one spelling ‘love’, ‘peace’ or ‘home’ so you can have it up all year round. I love the colour scheme of this window display, the white is so tranquil and the little wooden houses look straight from a fairytale, dusted with snow.
Strolling down tiny little shopping districts with little boutiques, cafes, cheese shops right, left and centre. It felt like some kind of fairytale land out of the Nutcracker with all the pretty sparkles, garlands, Narnia style lamp posts, silver snowflakes and fairy lights. I definitely felt at home with the blush pink walls!
Ahhh don’t those displays get you feeling excited, roll on December 1st! I love the little Scandinavian style houses and rustic tree and star ornaments on sale outside this florist shop. I’d love to collect a whole mini wooden village, full of little houses with heart windows, and place tea lights inside them. Rustic crates like these would make amazing storage boxes for our conservatory, I’m trying to be patient and wait for the sales!
Oh, to be rich and be able to afford all of these! But would that make Christmas more special? Window shopping definitely provides great inspiration for decorating your own home, I loved the colour palette, the soft, snuggly deer cushions that accord with items on my mori girl wish list and the glittery, frosted houses.
Gold and white everything. I have a feeling Oscar would love all the sparkles, those angels and hanging hearts are just beautiful. It’s times like these I wish I had started saving earlier in the year just for Christmas. I did pop in to the sweet shop me being me and managed to find a pretty white star wreath for only £1.99!
I was captivated by the stunning wreath in the window of this shop, it even has a little owl perched in the middle! I’d like to try making those cotton wool snow curtains with Oscar, they look so cute in the window and painting our front door is something I’m really excited to do, I’d love to paint it a mauve, off white shade.
The wreath shop. Selling all different kinds of wreaths, big and small, even bird feeder wreaths for our red bellied friends. There were pots of herbs and Christmas trees on sale, they even had teeny trees for £4! They smelt so good too, you can’t beat the smell of a fir tree in erm November, hey it’s nearly December, right?
I hope you enjoyed my photos and interior ramblings haha, have you felt the urge to decorate lately? ♡
Omg dying over this post! Shabby chic has such a special place in my heart haha. It’s the perfect romantic decor <3
