An item I didn’t include in my previous post is my beloved Too Faced Grande Hotel Cafe, a sneaky gift to myself, dear me from me. Now I have opened it and admired every detail, from the teeny macarons to the
diddy trifles on the packaging, and swatched to my hearts content. Hopefully, now it is the New Year and time to eat healthily again, this will satisfy my sugar cravings that grew strong over Christmas!
Here we have the outer shell, the case containing the products inside. It’s adorable, designed to look like a hotel at Christmas, with the snow on the rooftops. I have to take a moment to marvel at the detail and beautiful design. It’s like nothing I have ever seen before. I love the gold adornments, so magical!
Inside is ever more beautiful. The Grande Hotel Cafe contains three palettes, the Gingerbread palette (I have featured on my blog previously here), the Peppermint palette and Eggnog palette, plus a deluxe edition of the coveted Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. Each palette is festive latte scented and exudes a sweet, subtly spicy, aroma that is lovely but not quite as strong as the Chocolate Bon Bons palette.
First up is the Peppermint palette. The shades are ambitious: the shimmers have different degrees of glitter to them and they look stunning in the pan! Sadly I found this palette a little hit and miss as some are chalky and patchy. Christmas Blend and Candy Cane struggle to be seen on the skin at all, whereas Sprinkles and Coffee Chip are beautiful and well pigmented! The blush, Santa Baby, is a candy pink hue.
Peppermint Cream is a beautiful matte white, Christmas Blend a sparkly, frosted gold, Peppermint Mocha a warm, matte fawn brown, Candy Cane a subtle bubblegum pink, Sprinkles a very shimmery burgundy pink that is perfect for the holidays and Coffee Chip, a deep, dark chocolate matte brown.
The Eggnog palette shades sound seriously delectable, mmm Eggnog Latte and Iced Coffee. They conjure up the most beautiful images of icing skating in the park while waiting for my coffee to cool. I was particularly excited to try Central Perk as I’ve been looking for a deep, velvet green, and was so impressed, I think it might be my favourite shade of all! The paler shades fared a little chalkier.
Frosty Nog is a pale ecru, a barely there, matte, off white, Eggnog Latte a pale shimmery gold, Iced Coffee the most beautiful deep copper hue with a hint of shimmer, Skinny Latte a paler copper brown with matte finish, Cold Brew, a cooler fawn brown with lots of shimmer and Central Perk, a gunmetal green.
Perhaps my favourite upon swatching was the Gingerbread palette. I was seriously impressed with the pigmentation and the shades compliment each other incredibly well, as well as being super versatile and flattering. All shades performed beautifully and I adore Winter Dream, it’s like nothing I own!
Cup of Joe and Maple Syrup are both beautiful taupe matte browns that are so versatile, Gingersnap a bright shimmery, copper orange, Winter Dream, the most beautiful frosted, shimmery lilac hue, Black Coffee, a very dark charcoal grey and Gingerbread is a lovely bronzer, a matte fawn hue.
Just me admiring the packaging a little more. It’s such a pretty keepsake, so instagram worthy, and makes a lovely little trinket box to keep bits and bobs in! Spot the little dog waiting for his mocha!
Have you tried anything from the Too Faced Christmas collection? It’s something I have come to anticipate every year, I cannot wait to see what treats they bring out and admire them over Instagram. The eagle eyed viewers among you may have noticed that I over excitedly forgot to swatch the blush shades. Maybe they will have their own little feature! Wishing you the loveliest New Year!! ♡
