On first discovering personalised chocolate company Morse Toad, the tale of the Princess and the Frog immediately sprang to mind. Morse Toad, famed for their creamy Belgian chocolate,
along with their unique amphibian mascot, is a tastier take on one of my favourite fairytales.
I made this red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream from a Betty Crocker recipe; it’s one of my favourite desserts of all time and the personalised chocolates made perfect toppings to decorate with afterwards. I managed to fit ‘Ice Cream Clara’ on top before
devouring the rest of the letters. I would love to recreate this with a special message for my mum’s birthday in August.
The boxes are a perfect size to fit in your letterbox, meaning the recipient of the box will find it nestled amongst their mail and won’t have to trek down the post office to receive it!
I found ordering my personalised message very easy and it’s such fun selecting little designs like hearts and stars to frame your message. You can even choose a little photo to be framed inside your box! I chose a snap of the roses I photographed last month in Regents Park.
In all honesty this was my first attempt at making sculptable icing, from the recipe here. It turned out well and I successfully constructed a lily pad and pink flowers using different food colourings, however they ended up a little taken over by the many chocolate letters!
The chocolate itself is incredible: creamy, decadent and melt in your mouth. I love that there’s so many things you can do with the letters, they make a lovely gift in their own little box, or the perfect finishing touch to any kind of special occasion cake. Head over to Morse Toad here to create your own message in chocolate! What is your favourite dessert? ♡
