I have been down with flu for the past few days so been a bit out of things but luckily had chocolate, candles and this petit chou to rouse my spirits and make getting better a lovely cosy,
it’s-cold-outside, stay-indoor kind of experience. Oscar is now on to solids and getting used to eating baby rice and milky porridge from his gelly spoons, although a lot of it goes down his front! We had primarily tried him with some mashed vegetables but ended up mixing it heavily with baby milk as he didn’t seem to recognise it as meant for eating!
We caught him doing his first roly poly a few days ago on his changing mat as he ended up wailing on his tummy for assistance, but it is an exciting (and scary) prospect to see him starting to move around. His hair is very auburn at the moment and I’d love for him to be a redhead but I see it changing as he grows! I’m so glad I managed to whip out my camera and snap these photos because he went straight in the bath and clean pyjamas afterwards.
He just loves making messes though and gets the giggles nonstop whenever we change his clothes; he is very sensitive to being tickled. His favourite toys at the moment include plushie Groot, music phone and good old fashioned crackly paper! He is also at the stage where he loves to grab everything in sight and feel it with his chubby hands, be it hair, dress buttons or cheeks and noses. The only bad thing that comes with solid feeding are the messes – we are thinking about some disposable bibs! – and the nappy changes. It’s a lovely experience though!
