We are already in to September (!!) but I am trying to keep the summery posts going! We are on our last day here in France and I have finally managed to sort some photos out and arrange them in a kind of order! I wish I could have spent the whole summer here, it is possible to sit out in the garden til late at night everyday, without ever getting chilly! I love how life is so simple and uncomplicated here: locals bike and take the bus everywhere, they have huge ornate gates and shutters, ivy sprawling over everything and wild peaches in the garden; it truly is a kind of bohemian paradise. We have visited a few towns but my favourite place to be is just on the bus, winding through villages and uncovering miles and miles of beautiful landscape: terracotta roofs, vineyards and tall sloping trees. We have made a few friends in the village - the bakery lady, a few old ladies who took a liking to Oscar and a friendly little neighbourhood cat who wanted to be photographed.
A highlight of being here was witnessing the most dramatic thunderstorm on Tuesday night, with lightening lighting up the whole sky bright purple and white. I have never really experienced such an extreme of weather! I also managed to spot a meteorite one evening, while sitting outside as dusk was falling. We have also made friends with the many geckos
Luckily we have had a few milder days, weather-wise, enough to enjoy the hot, drying air and sunshine but not unbearably hot; perfect for taking Oscar out and dipping his little feet in the pool. He has loved coming out on bus trips and gazing out of the window, although grizzles so much when he has to get off and be pushed around. His personality is developing! More flowery pictures to come - I'd love to try and convert some in to wallpapers for different devices - thus keeping a slice of summer close to me as colder weather is due! Can you believe it is September already?!
