Delights in town

Just thought I might share with you some quick pictures from our venture in Keswick last week. Oscar was doe eyed and adoring when he was awake! I adore these little rosebud heart decorations! I’d love to try and use them as some kind of elaborate kind of hair ornament. Cosy old fashioned gift shops are so decorative and sweet, bursting with ‘shabby chic’ items. Quaint, little English milkshake diners habit the main street.

When stopping briefly for luncheon, we came across an alleyway painted all in pink! It almost looks like cake frosting, don’t you think? These vintage lanterns from a sweet shop really took my fancy also.

Stacks upon stacks of jams and jellies, lemon and orange curds, handmade locally. They must make lovely souvenirs, to use in baking and in cakes! Finishing the day with homemade ice cream. Have you ever had a taste of the Lakes?

The shabby chic design scheme is lovely, something seen often in my local area too! I love the stacked jars of lemon curd too – they always give me that 'homely' feeling 🙂
