Oscar, sleepovers and My Hummy white noise toy*

Hello little boy! It feels like forever since I did a baby update or family post, this now three year old won't stay still for coco pops. Right now Oscar loves finding tags on his clothing, spotted recycling vans
out the window and talking about everything he notices around him, I can't believe how much he remembers and can say!

I still have no idea what I'm doing, just taking one day at a time haha. We have been struggling in the sleep department recently, Oscar constantly talks about shadows in his room and has been having a lot of nightmares, wakes up shouting and crying. I remember having a lot when I was his age. I was really excited to trial one of the most raved about sleep aids, from MyHummy, and see if it could help him settle at all.

Introducing... our cutest new addition, Ash from My Hummy! Originally designed to aid sleep and soothe babies and young infants, I was eager to see if he could have an effect on my three year old tearaway. He is such a beautiful bear and really easy to set up ready for bedtime, just take his matching blue heart, load it with 3 AAA batteries and place it inside the side zip compartment on the bear and you are all set for the night.

Ash comes complete with five different sounds to play, a heartbeat, hairdryer, rain, sea waves and a hoover. Pretty much all of them have me asleep with five minutes haha and the sleep sensor means that when your little one stirs during the night, the bear magically comes to life and the sounds gradually get louder until they reach the maximum volume you have set, for the length of time you set, before fading away again.
I love how it is unlike any other musical toy we have tried, when my little one is restless I can officially say goodbye to stumbling around in the dark fumbling for a 'start' button while making every possible noise in the process! The Bluetooth feature (you can purchase a Bluetooth version of each bear, that links to an app on your phone) is so useful too, you can control the sounds from your phone from any room of the house.
This is perfect for us with Oscar having his own room and when I am so tired too, as once connected via Bluetooth, you can set it to play anywhere between 20 minutes to 12 hours, which is amazing. Devices we have tried in the past have only lasted for about half an hour at one time, which meant getting out of bed and having to set it off again every 30 minutes or whenever Oscar stirred. This has revolutionised my bedtime too!
That cheeky little face! Little boy has definitely been sleeping better, Ash has made bedtime a much nicer experience for Oscar and now he actually looks forward to getting ready for bed. Where he was waking up about three to four times per night, he only wakes up once now if that. He does stir quite a lot in the night still and sometimes the odd 'mummy!' but I no longer have to attend as he gets off to sleep quite quickly again.

We've been having such good results, he relies so much less on having a drink in the night too, where before he would wake up about three times for one and scream for hours if he couldn't have one. I find it amazing that the app will send me notifications if he starts to whimper or cry, this will be so perfect for day naps too.

Oscar absolutely took to Ash right away, taking him to playgroup and feeds him breakfast every day. The removable heart is so handy, it means that Ash is easy to wash too, which is amazing as he has been coloured in about twice, been through a muddy puddle and had milk and cereal spilt on him on many occasions.

I really love how he gives every day objects new meanings, everything is so funny and fascinating, I love how he plays. There are so many lovely My Hummy bears and 'Snoozy' toys to choose from, one in every colour. Ash comes in lovely soft fleecy heather grey but he has brother and sisters Filbert, Fleur and Pearl in different teddy bear shades. They retail at about £60 per bear (£80 for Bluetooth) and £50 per Snoozy (£70 for Bluetooth), each come with a lovely canvas bag and are so worth it, they really transform your babies sleep!

You can also get portable 'Sleepy Head' white noise toys that are perfect to take with you wherever you go, and are cheaper at only £40 or £60 for Bluetooth. They work exactly the same as the bears, attach easily to the side of a bed or cot and are perfect for travelling. Also from My Hummy are these luxury warm blankets, so puffy and fleecy, a really lovely size and will be perfect for winter time or to snuggle around your little one in their pram or pushchair. They come in so many colours, we have the ecru shade here and it is so sweet and comfy.

It's ridiculously soft, fluffy and dreamy, as well as being baby safe. Pom poms on one side, fleecy grey stars and mini bears on the other... both of these would make such perfect newborn gifts, I swear the white noise toys will revolutionise the early days for new parents, or even later on when you have a wide awake toddler like me - or even later on when you are an adult, no judgement! I wish the snuggly blankets came in duvet size too
