The Pre Raphaelite gown edit*

Aislestyle dresses blog wishlist
It has dawned on me that there is not nearly enough flowy gown appreciation on my blog, especially with the upcoming wedding season. In collaboration with lovely dress company Aislestyle I thought I'd make a
cute lil scrapbook of ideas that are ode to the style of gowns worn in Pre Raphaelite paintings. They have all kinds, to suit every water nymph or forest maiden, ranging from plus size bridesmaid dresses to wedding party dresses, long bridesmaid dresses to special occasion dresses. Flower crowns compulsory!

1. Bateau pearl pink chiffon dress - I love the floaty sleeves on this number and the flower crown goes beautifully, plus it would make a beautiful, flowy maxi dress to don for formal occasions in the summer or just strolling around a rose garden. I just want to hang it on the front of my wardrobe haha!

2. Pink v neck tulle gown - I love the cross over style of this dress, it reminds me a little of Lamia's gown in my little spring hideaway post, with the gorgeous flowing fabrics. It makes me wonder why we don't don dresses like this for spring and summer and become real life Giselles maybe that's just me.

3. Vintage pink pearl chiffon with lace detail - This pearl pink grecian style gown is a beauty. The neckline is very classical and elegant and reminds me of Psyche's robe in Waterhouse's Psyche entering Cupid's Garden with the ruched texture and pretty waist.

4. Floral exquisite lace tulle wedding dress - This is such a dreamy, vintage gown and a gorgeous take on the traditional white ensemble. I adore the sheer fabrics and lace embellishments, though I'm not sure I'd be daring enough to pull off the dramatic neckline, what do you think?

5. Charming strapless sweetheart ruched chiffon gown - I'm convinced this is a dress specially made by flower fairies. The neckline is so pretty and it would be perfect to wear to a beach wedding or special occasion, with the floaty chiffon and side split. Ten points for the matching flower crowns!

6. Strapless a-line chiffon prom dress - This dress is so floaty and beautiful and proof that you can still exude princess flair without having to don an ankle length skirt. It reminds me of something a flower fairy might wear, so ethereal and pretty and perfect for prom or a special occasion.

7. Classical strapless sweetheart pearl pink chiffon gown - I love the ruched detail on this gown and the sheer fabric is so light and flowy technical term haha. If only the beautiful flowers came with it.

8. Vintage long sleeve lace bodice blush tulle beach dress - This has to be my favourite neckline, it's so romantic and beautiful! I adore the sheer lace accents on the bodice and the style reminds me of a medieval gown, or something a mythical goddess might have worn.

All of these would make such pretty bridesmaid dresses. Do make sure to check out their lace bridesmaid dresses and short bridesmaid dresses if you're planning a wedding this year, I could scroll for hours haha! Which are your favourites? Will you be chilling in a flowing organza number come summer?

  4. If only we could wear as Pre-Raphaelite characters every day! These dresses are gorgeous. I'd definitely add a pretty flower crown, and a head of long, wavy ginger hair - and there you go, the perfect Lizzie Siddal outfit :D
