Happy Sunday all! I don't know what it is about outfit photos, but I never know what to do with my arms haha, I'm still more used to being behind the lens rather than in front. It feels very liberating - and daring
- times where I couldn't bear to look at photos of myself as a teen, where I used to hide because I just looked 'wrong', today I am forcing myself to awkwardly stand there and accept myself haha.
Maybe I am acting or putting on a different face, maybe I am learning to be my own different kind of 'right', to accept that my 'wrong' is an illusion, I'm not sure! I adore the caramel tones of this Primark skirt, it's so thick and cosy! I love mini skirts so much, I collect so many and pair them with everything.
The blouse originally belonged to a two piece period prairie style panto costume and comes with a matching floor length skirt, although I prefer to match it with a mini skirt for a modern twist!
The sleeves and collar are so lovely, with pretty lace detail and the blouse features a delicate floral pattern. It was a little warmer out since my last outfit post and I can't wait to wear this without a coat on top, come spring! I'm almost getting modern Tarzan's Jane feels with the ruffles and boots, one of my favourite Disney characters. I may have a dress similar to her yellow one, I'd love to do a cosplay series!
I'm greatly inspired by Eloise's Alice in Wonderland themed outfits, composed of modern pieces but distinctly reminiscent of each of the quirky characters. Putting my own together, based on my favourite fictional characters, would be a dream! At the moment I am a modern 19th century girl in style haha.
Much of my wardrobe is second hand or vintage, lovingly tended pieces that have lasted through the years - some found in funny ways. I try to 'make do and mend' as much as possible, although I'd love to get better at sewing haha. Both blouse and long skirt were £30 together from Oxfam and my boots are second hand. Do you have any clothing pieces you are head over heels for? Let me know! ♡
