Free samples on the web*

One of my favourite things is to go out searching for bargains, thrifting and shopping second hand goods after saving up some small change! I love the thrill of finding something amazing at a reduced
price and making a whole day of it. Although I'm always browsing through the summer sales online, I'd never heard of freebie sites before. As it turns out, they are made for those of us who adore finding a bargain, testing out products, collecting and hoarding pretty things aka many of us bloggers.

I've recently been trying out Wow Free Stuff, an online community that shares promotional codes and free samples found from all around the web. There are many ways to score a bargain, win or sample products for free, by entering competitions or becoming a product tester. After discovering them on the internet, they were interested to know my thoughts on, and my experience with their website.

Pros

. My favourite brands. I love that they list popular and relevant brands, such as Rimmel and the Body Shop. There is something for everyone, from students to new mums, with free samples from parenting companies like DryNites and HIPP Organic baby food. I have also discovered some lesser known brands such as Buxom cosmetics and English Tea Shop via the site, a bonus in my books!

. Freebies are updated regularly. I really like how I can be sure that a deal is in date as they are frequently updated at 11am each morning. Many other sites eg Hot UK Deals still host offers that have long expired and so it takes a lot longer to sift through them.

. So much variety. I was completely bowled over by the amount of offers they have on there, I could honestly spend all day freebie hunting. Everything from Sanctuary to Bodyform is up for grabs!

Cons

. Sign up to apply for freebies. The only con for me is having to sign up and provide my details to apply for freebies. They recommend using a secondary email address so as your inbox does not get overcrowded. Always be aware of what information you give and you should never have to supply any account information or buy anything. There are so many offers to choose from, I really recommend picking the ones from brands that you trust, that are respected and legit and that appeal to you!

. It depends upon selection. This means that, for many applications, only a small percentage may receive a freebie. Most are on a first come first serve basis, whereas some are competitions. However, there's a much better chance at gaining freebies than on competition sites.

Overall Wow Free Stuff is really worth a look! I was impressed with how easy it is to navigate and the amount of freebies and offers on there, I could spend all day browsing and can't wait to start receiving samples. I'm really interested in the idea of entering competitions regularly, as inspired by Victoria at Victoria's Vintage: her winnings look amazing!

What do you think? Have you ever used a freebie site before?

  7. I have never tried a freebies website, but Wow Free Stuff seems quite good! Of course you'd probably have to hunt a lot for interesting freebies before everybody else gets them, but it can be a good way to discover new products :)

  10. I've thought about signing up for these types of sites before but all the email spam put me off. Brands like the Bodyshop would make me reconsider though!
