Giselle inspired look*

The sunny days of late have made me feel like dressing up and singing Disney songs! I have had a series of much better days and spent them visiting relatives and lounging in the park with
Oscar. I love how the warmer weather means so much over here, that we really worship the sun when it does appear and everyone is laughing and talking together about it!

I felt like changing my look in awe of the weather and so here I am with auburn hair. I was rather inspired by the lovely Giselle in movie 'Enchanted' and her beautiful 'curtain made' outfits and red hair to match. I used Superdrug's Colour Vibrance in Rich Copper Gold, as it's been my go to in the past, and was left with a really pretty, natural auburn shade! I also donned my spring cherry blossom dress, Newchic earrings and experimented with the Diamond styler flat iron by Irresistible Me, to create natural looking waves and curls.

It's been a while since I last curled my hair but thankfully the Diamond styler is very easy to use! It has so many useful features, such as the adjustable temperature scale (it lights up to show you how hot it is) a 360 swivel cord, so it never gets in the way; the plates are made with crushed diamond pieces mixed with tourmaline and it comes in a beautiful ruby red shade. It heats up quickly, so I managed to do my hair all while Oscar was napping! It is a flat iron but can be used to straighten/curl hair in a variety of ways, all explained and illustrated by the booklet below.

My hair is pretty long at the moment and does not hold a curl easily but I was left with beautiful loose ringlets. I then combed through to neaten them and gently styled to create natural looking waves. The only fault I can find is that the booklet did not inform me how long I had to hold my hair for, so it took a bit of experimentation to get the temperature and time right. This was a bit scary as the iron is capable of reaching 450 degrees and I didn't want to cause any damage!

Fortunately, the hair is protected by the diamond and tourmaline technology and so it is one of the kindest irons you can use for your hair, especially if you have to style it on a daily basis.
As the company describes, "the diamond and tourmaline technology will protect your hair and keep all the natural hair oils, colour and moisture in, leaving your hair healthy, shiny and frizz free". Protecting my hair was important to me, having recently coloured it, and I loved that it felt silky and soft afterwards. I used hair spray to finish and even had beachy-bohemian waves still when I woke the next morning!

I had a really lovely experience with this styler, it affords me a lot more time to dress my hair up in the mornings as it is so easy to use. As I'm from the UK I had to use a plug converter, as the styler is made for use in the US originally, but these are so inexpensive and easy to find. My curls lasted a long time and even withstood Oscar's widespread lashings of rice pudding! It retails at $149 (approx £100) on the Irresistible Me website.
A big thank you to Irresistible Me for sending me the iron to review.
Thank you so much for reading! Do you like to wear straight or curly hair?

  6. So pretty! I love both straight and curled hair, but because I don't usually have a lot of time I go for straight hair because it's quicker x

  7. Dressing up and singing Disney songs sounds like the best programme ever! This hair colour suits you :) I love Giselle's hair as well, she is just dreamy! I have curly hair and I never straighten it because it is super thin and my head looks horribly big when my hair is straight haha, I think wavy/curly hair has a little something to it anyways and these waves look lovely on you!
