Too Faced, Melted kisses and Sweet cheeks

This is the first time I have ever dabbled in anything Too Faced, meaning I was only too curious to give this a go. This is one of the little gift sets sold by the brand, containing the Too Faced
Melted liquefied lipstick in shade Fig and blush in shade Your Love is King. By its price tag and their popularity on the internet I was expecting great things and I wasn't disappointed!

I'm so glad I went for these shades as Fig is just beautiful, everything I wanted from a darker lip. It isn't too dark, but is a rich, vampy, brown based purple: opaque and intensely pigmented. This shade seems more suited to autumn than spring! It's still darker than the shades I normally wear and wearing this gives me a boost of confidence. It is easy to apply and use, but something makes me long for it in traditional lipstick form, rather than a squeezy tube. The lipstain, although beautiful, with decorative gold adornments and swirly fonts aka too cute to throw away, is also small and I wish it contained more product so I could get more use out of it!

It has a subtle, yet beautiful, scent which I love, somewhat like plum and brown sugar to me, and has great staying power: it works great as a stain! On application it feels velvety and creamy, however, it can be a little drying; the effects of this become especially prevalent after wearing this for a few days. I definitely wouldn't use it to cure chapped lips as I think it would have the opposite effect! I find that alternating it with a nourishing lip balm (I choose Babylips winter ed in Candy Apple - so yummy!) works well and only wearing it on outings or going out days.

Your Love Is King suits Fig so well, they go completely hand in hand for me. I first had to marvel at the packaging: the lid is so pretty, with the engraved 'TF' initials inside, and this too shares a similar scent to Fig. As like Fig, it is extremely pigmented and has excellent staying power. Its only fault for me is that it isn't particularly blendable and, upon depositing the formula on to one's face, it appears to not wish to move from where it is applied. Depending on how you apply the blush, you may be left with pink streaks upon your upper cheek that refuse to budge. Once again I would love to have had more product come with this as the size of it appears to be a mini version of the full sized product.

Despite them being on the small side, I'm so pleased with these products and don't think I could have chosen nicer shades. It's such a lovely experience having and wearing these - thank you Too Faced angels for bringing us such beautiful makeup to wear! I really wish the bigger sized products were more accessible price wise. How do you feel about lip stain?

  1. I've never tried any of the Too Faced melted products but I agree, I think Fig is such a beautiful shade. I quite like lip stains because I don't like a heavy feeling on my lips but I can't when them where my lips are chapped or they sink into the cracks. :S

  3. I love Too Faced as a brand, and those Love Flush blushes have the absolute cutest packaging. I don't have any of the full sized ones (yet) but I've got two of the minis and they're just adorable!

  5. I only have two eyeshadow palettes from Too Faced but they are both amazing, so I'm sure these two are incredible too :) I actually wanted one of their Melted lipsticks, but the last time I was at a counter my fave shade was sold out, so I decided to leave it for now. Fig looks like a very pretty shade too though!
Have a wonderful weekend girlie :)

  8. You did choose gorgeous shades! I love the Melted lipstick. Your review is super useful, and I'm not surprised that the formula can be a bit drying. And darker lip colours also give me a boost of confidence :D The blusher is pretty as well. Although these are not full size products, it is a good deal still because then you can try it out and make sure you love them - imagine if you didn't! :P
