It finally feels like spring, with the influx of lovely sunny days we've had lately! It's a little chilly out, but the sun feels warm and daffodils are growing and growing. Dare we call it spring?
Coming down from a stretch of 'good days', it feels difficult to get outside and, although I feel every inch of me wants to be out, stretching my limbs, absorbing the warm sun and exploring golden glens, I feel an undeniable need to hibernate and hide myself away from the world.
On the good days from recent I've been doing a little spring cleaning - and painting. Replacing our lilac with a soft raspberry pink, dusting and rearranging my table in my little corner. This lovely jewellery box is from NewChic - catch it on my little wishlist back here! - and it's the most beautiful thing for keeping old rings and combs in, and storing buttons and pins. It has a lovely antique, oriental feel, beautifully carved, very sturdy and strong and has a lot of character! It's also a huge bargain at only £2.50!
Morrisons doughnuts are always best, am I right? Sooo gooey and doughy with powdery sugar on. This reminds me exactly of that and is by far one of the cutest, most detailed squishies I own. One side is covered in strawberry pink icing, with little grooves where the frosting has meant to have been applied, and red sprinkles, the other is dark chocolate dusted with sugar. It reminds me of a Snow White apple! I've been lusting after a Sammy the Patissier squishy for so long so I was really happy to find this one on ebay,
I've been really in to reading non fiction and picked up these gardening books from the library. I am currently building on the knowledge that my Grandma gave me, in the hopes that I can one day farm my own fruit and make jams, pies and all sorts from them! The prospect of being self sufficient and employing the age old practice of crop farming really excites me.
Also from NewChic, this rose gold bangle is enchanting, fitted with opals and cubic zirconia. I also have some floral earrings (see top) and they are of lovely quality. They do such great budget jewellery! I will definitely stock up on some more, especially the rose gold pieces. It's a little big for my wrist but I tuck it over my sleeve and it fits perfectly.
For those struggling to brave the outside, you completely aren't alone. Come and join me for a film day and maybe a picnic. We can eat doughnuts from Morrisons and cloud watch ♡ *Alternatively drop me a line! Feeling like this can be hard & no one should go through it alone.
