Happy Easter weekend! ♡ March was the month that I decided to give Glossybox another try, after a little bird informed me there would be a full sized Luxie brush in the box this edition! I
was actually secretly hoping that the US version would find its way to my door instead, as it is supposed to contain a Too Faced Melted mini (in shades featuring much coveted Chihuahua!!) among many other brilliant items. I was, instead, graced with the UK version and was pretty impressed with the majority of products inside and the chance to try lots of new brands.
First up is the Hey Honey, honey silk facial serum: This was a really lovely surprise, although I first had to ask on instagram to find out how to open it! It turns out that snipping the stopper at the end works fine. It's a really nourishing, cooling, soothing cream that would work great for dry complexions or areas. I have very sensitive skin, so have to be careful what I put on my face; however, I have only experienced good things with this product! It has a very subtle, albeit pleasant, scent and I can tell that this would be a vital piece of kit come winter mornings.
Luxie rose gold angled face brush: The brush is so beautiful, soft and fluffy! This is definitely my favourite pick of the box and is nicely sculpted to fit the contours of your cheekbones. The baby pink and rose gold look beautiful together and it is of such lovely quality! This normally retails at approximately £10 so is a really nice addition to the box, making it pretty good value.
I'd like to try more brushes from Luxie, as I get the impression this is one in a big range. Looook at the shininess! It's cruelty free and very soft to suit the most sensitive of skin. I'm really looking forward to using it with my Too Faced blush, so I can distribute the product more evenly
-417 Catharsis Vitamin Mineral Shampoo and Conditioner: I'm actually yet to give these a go but I was really happy to read that they are sodium laureth sulphate free as, ever since I made the swap with paraben free shampoos, my hair has never been better! I usually find that I don't even need conditioner and it stays in great condition for longer.
Their price at full size is £16.89, which quite a bit heftier than my beloved OGX shampoos, so I'm not sure I'd repurchase. I'm really looking forward to trying these out though and my hair is very grateful for the opportunity! They will also be great to take travelling.
So Susan Light Diffuser: I was immediately won over with the pretty packaging, the outer case is so pretty adorned with gold embellishments! Inside is a little round tub with a bronzer and highlighter duo. The formula is a little flaky but nicely pigmented, especially the bronzer, which can be easily layered for stronger impact.
The highlighter is very subtle, even when layered, which is great for achieving a natural look and looks very pretty blended in with blusher. This is also cruelty free and infused with Cocoa, Papaya and Sea Kelp extracts. I'm pretty new to the bronzer department, so I think I would have to experiment with a few more before repurchasing.
Olay Regenerist Skin tone perfecting cream: This is the one product that I was a little disappointed in, as it didn't seem to do anything for my skin, except cause redness! It feels nice and moisturising, although I didn't really take to the scent, and a while after application I just wanted to remove it again. It is also a teeny tiny sample and the full sized product retails at £29.99, so I don't think I would repurchase, at least without giving it a full trial.
Will I keep my subscription to Glossybox? As exciting as it is to receive a box every month, I think I would prefer to save up my pennies for the coveted items on my wishlist, rather than risking buying products that don't suit me. It's a lovely idea as a gift for someone, however, so I might consider ordering again in the future! Have you ever signed up to a subscription box?
