Soap & Glory SMP gloss in Rose and Shine

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you've had a nice relaxing kind of day or time to reflect on the past week and one ahead. I've spent a little bit of time sprucing up my header a bit and finally
managing to get my own domain, this from the girl who sees 'hosts' and 'DNS'' as a completely foreign language. I'm really happy to get back to my little beauty review series with one of my go to glosses, this Sexy Motherpucker gloss by Soap and Glory I picked up back in the sales.

The name might be funky but the formula isn't, if you know what I mean! It's a lip plumping gloss, so comes with a tingling sensation that felt a little bizarre for me. I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable and feels more like a buzzing sensation that lasts for about ten minutes or so. It goes on really smooth and glossy, not sticky at all, which I really like! If you're new to lip plumping glosses I would definitely recommend this one to try.

When I use this regularly I can notice a small difference to my lips after a while but I mostly enjoy it for the colour. It's a beautifully sheer rosy pink that would suit every skintone, a lovely translucent pink nude shade (swatch at top). It is also fragranced with a delicious lingering chocolate orange-like scent, a lot like jaffa cakes to me! Unfortunately not flavoured though, am I the only one who looks for that?

In terms of longevity, it's pretty darn good when it comes to water resistance and is impressive for a lipgloss, without being sticky and 'gooey'. It lasts a decent amount of time but I find myself reapplying quite a few times throughout the day, having to go through the buzzing experience again! It is nice and slim for putting in your pocket though, still with nice lot of product inside.

The only point in question I have is the price for how much product you receive, as it retails at £9 which, without an offer on, is quite steep for me! I would love to repurchase though, there's always room on my wishlist for this product and I definitely think it contends high end glosses.

You can currently scoop this lip gloss for only £7 here* at Boots, don't miss out! I'm such a big fan of Soap and Glory cosmetics, I'd really love to give their matte lip crayons a go. Do you go in for lip glosses? Head here to catch up with more of my little series!

*no affiliates, just drop me a comment if you scoop it!

  2. The shade is really pretty and seems great for nude makeup looks. However I hate that tingly feeling that you described haha, so plumping lipglosses are definitely not for me! Oh and I also kinda like flavoured lip glosses, you're not the only one guilty of that :P

  11. I couldn't stand the smell/taste of these and the one I tried was really sticky too! Maybe they've reformulated? I remember thinking it was a shame as the rest of S&G's makeup line is pretty fab! This is a gorgeous shade, I bet it looks lovely on you :)

    1. Hi Jess, aw thank you! I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them before, I think lipglosses are very hit and miss with people - I find them either good or really bad haha! Maybe they reformulated? I love the rest of their cosmetics too, really great brand! :D ♡
