Soap & Glory Thick and Fast HD

I am back with another miniature review, this time on the Thick and Fast mascara HD by Soap and Glory! Lately I have been busy, preparing to finish the decorating in our little flat and, in
between everything, dreaming of ways to spruce up the little garden out front. I am still on citalopram and have noticed that I have been feeling better physically, a lot better than I was. My anxiety at the moment is not good though and I spend every day feeling so scared, paralysed in a way by my fears and I can't escape. It's hard to divert my energy away from this but I have started 2016 with a few new changes: starting a Mary Helen Bowers ballet programme for fitness, reading and writing more, practising Buddhist teachings and eating better.

I received this lovely product as a full sized sample inside one of Soap and Glory's gift sets. Mascara is never something I go out looking to buy, partially because I have a weird thing about it clumping my lashes and also that I have dark lashes, so it doesn't have as much an effect.
I've heard so many rave reviews about this particular product though, so I was excited to give it a go! I really love the shiny gold packaging, totally in league with the other Soap and Glory products: all vintage flair, pink, black and gold, swirly captioned packaging.

My first impression was that it's a wonderful mascara for use on the go: not only really easy to apply but, as the name suggests, lifts and thickens lashes super fast! It gives a pretty dramatic look, which you can intensify by applying an extra coat or two, although it can turn your lashes quite spidery in the process. It definitely lengthens and thickens very well. The only thing for me is that the brush deposits a lot of product on immediately, which makes the lashes feel clumpy and like I am wearing a lot of product, hence the spidery look, although it defines the lashes nicely. There is no medicinal scent either - I can only describe this mascara as smelling yummy! Am I imagining this or does it smell like jaffa cakes?

Would I repurchase? Yes and no; I would happily repurchase this in the sales or as part of a gift set, but probably not at full price (£10.50). That said, that is just my personal opinion because I'm still no mascara convert huhu. However, if I did have a favourite mascara this would be it; it's such good quality for a drugstore brand. I do love using this but for everyday, I have to admit it's a slick of liner that I reach for instead to complete my look.

This is part of the little review series I am doing, featuring quite a few Soap and Glory products! Head here to see the Soap and Glory Perfect Ten palette review from last week
Have you tried this mascara out? Which is your favourite to use?

  1. The packaging is so nice! I don't think this would be great for me as I like really big, bold lashes but it looks lovely on you!

  5. I've never heard about this brand because I think they don't sell in on my country, yet it looks really cute! It has its pors and cons so it's a great idea to buy it on sale or with a discount.
By the way, I hope you're feeling better now, dear!
