January wallpaper goodies

I am yet to make a list of resolutions for my blog, as I wanted to think a bit more about what my goals were for my blog and otherwise in the new year. I was going to attempt a saving plan for
2016, having seen that yearly save printout in many places around the web, but have instead decided to donate the money I save in a month to WaterAid. This is after reading about how different childbirth can be in countries with no access to clean water and how inspirational people there are with dealing with and trying to work around this issue. It's so different there to how it is in our labour wards, with women the same age or younger than me having to walk for hours whilst being in labour, just to reach the hospital. With birth an often unpredictable, tiring and terrifying event, it really brought it home how fortunate we are just to have clean water running in our own houses and there during and after labour. I am still following the original printout: find it here! I'm excited to see how much I can save up in a year!

There have been so many gorgeous 2016 themed wallpapers floating around the web recently and, mulling over them with strawberry and cream cadbury, I've whittled it down to eight favourites to share with you. Each of them is beautiful, I keep switching up my screen:

1. Red Stamp - A lovely quote and calendar, motivational if your resolutions haven't quite gone as planned, like eating less sugar in the new year. It reminds us that every day yields the chance to make a difference, it is not just resigned for the first day of the year.

2. Design Milk - I love this quote: taking a step out of our comfort zone and challenging ourselves bit by bit can help us to evolve, learn and grow as people. This is important as it reminds me to keep facing my triggers and not let them take over my life. The gold leaves are beautiful too!

3. May Designs - Go here for a gorgeous assortment of minimalistic designs if you fancy something a little smarter and sophisticated on your screen.

4. Little Seed Studio - 'A certain darkness is needed to see the stars' - this is such a romantic way to see life and has a beautiful night sky illustration to accompany it. It seems like this month has a continuing theme of stargazing - they are even hosting special space themed activities on children's TV at the moment, giving little ones the chance to get involved in everything sci fi.

5 & 6. Lauren Conrad - I find some of my favourite wallpapers from this site: the winter mugs and candy canes are so sweet and seasonally appropriate, not to mention the little deer design!

7. Going home to roost - I have this as my wallpaper now: I just love the pink floral design and swirly gold 'January'. It's really helpful to have the calendar already there on my screen!

8. Free people - This bohemian inspired calendar is beautiful and one of my favourite night sky wallpapers. I wish I could have one for every month of the year! There is a full purchasable calendar but not yet a desktop one *sadness*

Head over to my Wallpapers and Scans board on Pinterest to see a few more! It was fun choosing and sourcing these, and discovering some great sites in the process. Additionally, head here if you fancy gracing your screen with some warmer weather. Check out WaterAid's #DeliverLife campaign to read more and get involved. Disclaimer: this is not something I have been asked to do, just something I feel passionate about. Additionally, all artwork I have featured here belongs to its linked original artist.

  17. It's a great idea to donate the money to water aid . They idea of a pregnant woman having to walk for ages to find a hospital and then have no running water or even a safe labour is horrific, water aid is a wonderful and inspirational charity <3 I love the oh deer wallpaper hehe :)

    Lots of love, Marianne xxx

    1. Thanks so much Marianne, I really think so too! We have no idea how lucky we are; when I went in to have Oscar I was terrified so I can't imagine how it must be for mothers in countries with less water! Aw I'm glad hehe xD ♡
