Winter beauty favourites

I enjoy so many posts like these, I wanted to try and make my own little version! I'm sorry I have been absent for a little time: it is my partner's birthday and we have travelled down to the
West Midlands to be with his family as we celebrate it. It's been a rushed couple of days putting posts together to share with you, getting ready for Christmas - shaking off the bad weather! - and packing, all while feeding and attending to Oscar. Luckily I am experiencing a great deal more good days being on citalopram and a lot of the time I feel well now, which feels amazing!

. Etude House Lash Serum - This is lovely for bringing out your lashes without the need for mascara. I always avoid mascara because I never like it when my lashes clump up! I guess I have a weird thing about it. This acts like vaseline in that it brings out, darkens and defines your lashes really well without putting any weight on them, while conditioning them and encouraging healthy growth at the same time. The only thing I dislike about the product is the smell: it has quite a pungent medical scent. I blogged about the Etude House Brow Tint here...
. Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner - I'm new to this after hearing so many good things about it! I finally got round to trying it and I love it. I line mine thinly because it really brings so much attention to the eyes; I like how fine the nib is and is very easy to apply perfect for me, being unskilled in the liner department . It's a wonderful felt tip liner! The only bad thing is it smudges quite easily, if I happen to rub my eyes or my hair goes in my face in the rain they go panda style. If ever I want a boozy-batgirl-Jessica Jones inspired eye, it always gets there by the end of a rainy day! I'd love to try a makeup setter with it and then see how it behaves.
. Clinique Lipstick in Nude Pop (Glamour freebie) - Like many, I was so surprised to find an assortment of mini Clinique products in the December issue of Glamour magazine! This is a lovely rosy, natural shade with a pearlescent finish. It is much more of a pink than a nude but is great for enhancing the complexion and perfect as an everyday shade. It's not as long lasting as some I have tried and is quick to slip off, however the small size means it fits perfectly in my pocket, to take everywhere I go! It has a very attractive design too.
. Max Factor Facefinity - I have tried many foundations but I always come back to this one! I have found the perfect shade - I think it is the second palest in the range - and I love how they counter for paler shades of skin (I often go for the palest shade from some brands and still end up very orange!). I loved Rimmel's Match Perfection for a while but this offers my favourite coverage for skin - it's so velvety and makes my skin so soft - ultra blendable, aswell as being both a primer and concealer in one. I simply cannot find a fault with this product! Max Factor are also currently offering a free gift when you spend £15+ on their products at Boots - very exciting!
Maybelline Color Show in Sugar Crystals - This little nail pot is perfect for the holidays. It's a sheer sparkly polish that looks great on its own or as a top coat. I was honestly torn between this and Maybelline's Dr Rescue as my go to winter polish but I'm so glad I went for this one! It's so beautiful and shimmery, with incredible staying power: it's been two weeks now and it has barely chipped at all! It gives a lovely shimmery, frosty finish to a french manicure.

What are your favourite beauty products in winter? P.S I might squeeze in a little picture on instagram of me wearing my favourites. I guess I was too shy for this post! xD Thanks so much for your lovely comments, I will reply in the morning! Stay tuned...

I agree, I'm not very good at applying eye liner either. At least it's easy to remove at the end of the day ;)

    1. Hi Elyse! Haha awww thank you, that's very kind! :D me neither, but I had never found one I liked and so didn't use it regularly at all. That is very true! In contact with water, it goes instantly. Apart from if it is a rainy hand rubbing it by accident, that is not good xD ♡
