Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are having a lovely time and finding and enjoying peace and prosperity this holiday! A few days before Christmas, I was very excited to receive my Jess
Woods parcel, carefully wrapped in pink fairy paper and decorated with ribbon and little forest vial capsule. Everything in her shop was so beautiful! I was delighted to be able to get a few second hand items as an early Christmas present, the white sailor dress and snow princess top. The forest vial was such a sweet touch and the package was so dainty and lovely and perfect.
Here is a little Christmas tag I put together to show a little of what I got up to on Christmas day; I think Oscar got a little overwhelmed by all of the excitement and even burst in to tears once or twice, bless him! I still have my Japan Candy giveaway going on - go here to check it out!! ♡
. Real or artificial tree? Always a real tree! It feels glorious to have the real thing in my front room, as well as keeping a little bit of nature inside. It reminds me of Christmastime every time I catch a whiff of the pine needles, smelling like deep, snowy forests, and I make sure to place something below it to catch the needles in case they fall off. Our tree has been so good this year: lush velvety, leathery needles that barely fall off!
Favourite Christmas ornament/decoration? This is the first tree of our own since moving out so we bought/made all of our decorations new for it! I really love the idea of collecting a special new one each year, so you have a shiny new bauble as a souvenir of those memories. On our tree we have warm white lights that give it a cosy, traditional, old-fashioned esque feel, gold bells and hearts, green and gold tinsel and our first special bauble: a large shimmery pink teardrop one I found in Homebase.
. What are your Christmas traditions? Winter walking down the lanes: I love seeing people and wishing them a Merry Christmas, everyone is always in such good spirits! It makes me feel so cheerful. Also, being with my family and watching them open presents, eating special foods only reserved for Christmas time, playing card games, watching Doctor Who and playing on Minecraft on the Candy texture pack at the moment, it's sooo cute! In the evenings I often like to find a quiet corner to read: my book of the moment is The Ice Twins by S.K Tremayne!
. Name your favourite festive food? Can I choose at least five? Definitely roast potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, or cake with rum butter icing (my mum loves to make these,
. A warm or cold Christmas? I think if I was ever to go away at Christmas I would leap at the chance to go somewhere snowy. There is nothing more magical than a white Christmas for me! Although I do miss the warm temperatures when winter hits us. Sadly at the moment we have more floods and rain so fingers crossed it won't dampen the festive spirits.
. Jazz music or Classical? Ahhh both?! I have so much love for classical at the moment.
. Favourite Christmas presents? I'm so happy I was able to receive some things from my wishlist! It reminds me how lucky I am to have people to celebrate the season with and a safe, cosy, warm place to do so. I really treasure the moments watching others opening things! Oscar has had some lovely toys and treats, including jingly In the Night Garden rocking figures and a special dessert to try - and still has more to open!
I hope you are having Happy Holidays! I've been super anxious lately but still managed to have a lovely time with my family. I'm excited to just chill, visit family, compose posts, winter walk and eat way too much for the next ten days of Christmas! Will you be doing a tag of your own? If you do, please let me know in the comments as I love reading them!
What did you receive/get up to for Christmas? ♡
