Pleasant walk

Old, overgrown places like this are fascinating, especially as the roses are still blooming. There's a beautiful contrast between the youth and beauty of the rose and the age of the stonework. I can never resist a rose garden either - check out my PreRaphaelites and Flowers pinterest board for further inspiration of old things, flowy dresses and flower fields!
Oscar remained asleep for almost the entirety of our journey, although began to grizzle when we took the footpath back in to town. I really love the old door above! It was especially nostalgic taking him under the 'echo bridge' where my Grandma used to take me for walks when I was not three years old - I always thought trolls lived there. It always surprises me when I am out, how many people stop for conversation when I have Oscar with me; especially elderly ladies!
