(Early) february wishes

Yes I am aware it's not February yet (lol) but I want to do this early and leave time to actually grant my wishes in the upcoming month :) That and I'm already pretending it's pancake month, for breakfast's sake!
So I'll whip out my maple syrup and ring in the month with some decorative goodies from my wishlist...

Message from a Snowed Under

Dear readers, gosh, how I need one of these right now...
I am here, melting, in the delicious warmth over a nice chocolatey kinder bar.
I've done a few snow posts before but nothing compares to what we got today: absolute chaos! A blizzard decided to descend upon my small town and I am completely buried in. I realized there was actually no point on wearing makeup in the snow; for one, it would have quickly dissolved under the amount of snow that blew in my face. For another, there was no need: the fast blowing flakes stung and whipped my cheeks redder than MAC’s Frankly Scarlet! I spent the afternoon today reviewing two lovely conditioners, which I can't wait to post tomorrow, but my glossy locks have since been frizzified – is that a word? – by the weather. Hair plus blizzard = definitely nicht gut!
I've also been fiddling about with HTML again and now have a set of lovely social buttons at the top right! I've just discovered Bloglovin and really like it - I'd be the happiest girl online if you could take the time to follow me on there! :D I promise to follow back of course!
Hehe don't get me wrong, I love the snow! Just in smaller, more manageable proportions.

Are you Bloglovin too?

As the day is fading, on White Houses

These silly little wounds will never mend, I feel so far from where I've been
So I go, and I will not be back here again. I'm gone as the day is fading, on White Houses...
I love a sunny day in January because the sky looks all pearly and lit up and everything feels fresh. Maybe a promise of spring?

What's in my shower?

Hello Neffi! ♥

There's only one of Neffi's kittens left now and she seems a bit down, even though she still has squawky little Merlin for company! I found her sat on the banister looking out of the window. I don't think she was in the picture taking mood as she eventually got bored and sloped off upstairs. That's cats for you! :)

TBS Atlas Mountain Rose Oil ♥

...And breathe. A beautiful name for such a little bottle of loveliness.

"Escape to the valley of roses. A concentrated perfume oil infused with Atlas Mountain Rose. This bright, dewy blend of floral accords was inspired by dawn in a field of blossoming roses."

Soap and Glory Moisture Mist

If I can squeeze a quick update in here... today is a bit of a sad day for me as I have to let go and sell one of Neffi's beautiful kitties. One of the seal points is going today and the new owner is coming round later for him. Sad to let him go but happy that's he's going to a good home! Now to cheer up I have a rather pretty pink post for you today, in reviewing S&G's lovely 'Girligo' Moisturizing Mist.

This month's wishlist.... smells of milkshake, cookies and roses ♥

It's Snowtime! ♥

Finally got snow up here in the Lake District! It's been snowing on and off since lunchtime, at first in sleet and then big fat flakes. It's settled a bit but if it's anything like last year probably won't stay put! I'd take proper pictures but it was dark by the time it started to settle.
Some people hate snow as it's cold and dangerous on pavements but I think it makes a nice change to the gloomy January weather. As long as it doesn't stick around for months like a grubby Christmas decoration and goes when we want it to xD It would be nice if it could stay all magical and fresh while it's around :)

Philosophy's Cinnamon Buns

If it had been gingerbread or even candy cane I may have kept calm and carried on, thanks to the hefty price tag on Philosophy products. But because it was cinnamon curiosity got the better of me. I'm really glad it did!
Not just cinnamon, it smells like icing and cake and cinnamony warmness! That's the best way I can describe it :) The bottle even has a cute recipe on the front for baking cinnamon buns - how brilliant!

Someone lend me a pen... ♥

Now. I'm so excited about this find!

"I do not want to be good at drawing. I think I just wanted to create a ‘new wave’ that did not exist previously"

says amazing Korean artist Hajin Bae (aka soulist-aurora) And a felt tip has never been used so beautifully...

A winter afternoon ♥

By the fire...
Anyone noticed that the nights are starting to draw out again? It's much lighter in the afternoons here, even with bad weather. This always makes me excited about spring, but then it usually snows and feels more wintry than ever!

I wanted to post another ice cream picture here but feel that it may be unsuitable due to the cold weather outside. There's a freezing fog outside as I write. So instead I have filled it with lots of cosy kitten pictures!
Once they spotted the camera they became insanely interested with the string on the end xD

January Favourites ♥

It's a grey Monday but I seem to be running on a pink theme for this month's favourites, mostly as all of Lee Stafford's products seem to bear the same fluorescent pink hue. It does make them much easier to spot in an aisle at Boots though! Going from left to right...
1.  'Rebel Angels' by Libba Bray - Still on my creative writing buzz and love picking up on other peoples writing techniques! Writing is an art form itself and reading can help you pick up styles and techniques to use in your own work. Plus I love historical novels!
2. Lee Stafford Hair Growth Range - Using these as a bid to help my hair grow faster as I had it cut shoulder length during the summer. It is now back to mid back length! I've been using the treatment since Octoberish and the shampoo/conditioner for the past few weeks. I think the treatment has much more effect than the other two though. I quite like the conditioner but the shampoo is quite drying. Would probably give 3.5 stars for each and 5/5 for the treatment :)
3. Max Factor FaceFinity Foundation -  Got a sample of this in a magazine recently and couldn't stop using it. It's supposed to be a primer, concealer and foundation in one and is a light formula that doesn't make you look 'caked' with foundation. Smoothes skin very well and even counters for pale shades! (With previous foundations I've always chosen the lightest shade but still looked like an oompa loompa!) This is brilliant :D
4. Soap and Glory 'Hand Food' - One of the most reviewed and raved about hand creams on the web; I tried out a mini size and was not disappointed!  Very moisturizing, non greasy and smells amazing! ^^

I took this picture thinking I would love to do a desk tour at one point. I've re-tidied all my ethnic decor and would love to do a 'Boho interior style' post sometime :)

Kitten Pic Time!
They are now nearly nine weeks and almost ready to be sold. So if you fancy a very friendly Siamese cross kitten with diddy white paws let me know! ^^

Nicknamed, from left to right: Moscow, Polar and Merlin - all winter kitties! With Mumma Neffi getting squished and Aunty Cho at the back.

New Year update! ♥

Dear readers, I would love to start by slathering all over this very lovely ice cream here.

But I first have to apologize for missing out a whole month in my archive! I've been rather stuck with the winter blues this Xmas, what with starting a new medication, having to have a blood test and coming down with an awful flu bug -.- But I've also been coming up with my entry for a yearly writing comp that runs in my area. The closing date is tomorrow and I'm really excited about it! Last year I was lucky enough to come second in the whole of my county so I'm excited to see if I can do as well - or better - in 2013!
That was my first resolution of the year.
Next to pick up my lovely blog where I left off as I didn't want to abandon it. I decided to give it an update for the new year - so welcome to '"Ice cream" whispers Clara.' It's a bit of a strange name, having been plucked out of my favourite Helen Dunmore story, but in my buzz for creative writing I wanted something different. 'Ice Cream' btw is a lovely short story by Dunmore with such beautiful imagery!

‘Then there is a breath of wood-strawberries, a burnt aroma of coffee, the silk-sweet innocence of vanilla, the spice of ginger, the ice-green tang of lime. The waiter lowers his platter to the table and places it before Clara ...’
Read an extract here

Have also fallen in love with Lee Stafford's hair growth treatment range and have been very much impressed with the amount of hair growth since I started the tub in November! Would love to do a full review and 6 months 'before and after' to measure up.
There is also a new series of Miranda *cheer* that shows on BBC1 every week or so. I feel cheered up already :)

Happy 2013 resolutions:

. Give more to help people
. Grow my hair more
. Watch more Miranda to combat tiredness from revision
. Score a good placing in my writing comp
. Post more ice creamy pictures...

Haha! What are yours? :D
